Wal-Mart, Olive Garden, Colony Tire and Murphy’s Gas teamed up to sponsor 15 teenagers' trip to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia on June 11th, 2011.
Colony Tire donated 4 tires to the Greenville Area Victory Christian Assembly Youth Ministry. This donation made it possible for the youth to go to King's Dominion and the North Carolina Aquarium.
Victory Christian Assembly a non profit organization has created a new and exciting youth program that was launched on October 31, 2008 in Greenville N.C. The program consists of tutoring, mentoring, community service; resume writing, praise dancing, games, food and much more. This youth program has provided a safe and secure environment for children from ages 5 thru 18 years old, every Friday night.
V.C.A. searches the Greenville and surrounding area every Friday evening transporting teenagers and kids to the program as an alternative to the streets. It is crucial to invest into our youth that come from all walks of life. Being familiar to a poor quality of living is what most of these kids are accustomed to, but we are trying to make a change in their lives before total destruction becomes their best friend.
Over 90% of the children that attend our program receive assistance from the state preventing them from life rewarding experiences such as this. These young people are truly excited for some have never left the city of Greenville N.C. Their poverty stricken neighborhoods are the visions they inhale on a daily basis. We want to change that, we are hoping to expose their sights and sounds to the wonders of this state.
