What type of tire do you need?

What you drive, where you drive, and how you drive are all important factors in selecting the right tire for your car or truck. Tires come in a variety of types, and choosing the right tire is crucial for your driving safety and comfort. The tire experts at Colony can show you the best tires for your vehicle, and then install them with extreme precision.

Passenger Tires

The two major categories of passenger tires are Standard and Touring. Standard tires are ideal for most 4-door sedans, midsize or compact vehicles. They have larger sidewalls and a narrower footprint. Touring tires, however, are usually found on more premium vehicles that are equipped with a manufacturer’s touring suspension package. Generally, touring tires have a shorter sidewall and a larger footprint, which provides more responsive handling.

Performance Tires

Performance tires are a higher level of passenger tires. Tires in this group are usually placed in two categories: High Performance or Ultra High Performance, depending on their performance/speed rating. In both cases the speed rating ensures the tire is matched to the performance standards of the vehicle. Performance tires are becoming original equipment on an ever-increasing number of new vehicles.

Light Truck Tires

The Light Truck group is made up of the Sport Utility Vehicles and Commercial Light Truck categories. This distinction between these two categories is primarily related to the specific vehicle and its use. Most SUV tires provide a smoother and quieter ride while giving reasonable load-carrying capacity. Tires for commercial use or work are capable of carrying a heavy load and are given a rating of C, D or E. These ratings indicate both the strength and load-carrying capacity of that tire, with C being the lowest and E being the highest.

ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY:

Your new tires are covered against defects in workmanship and materials by the manufacturer. Manufacturers do not cover damage due to road hazards such as potholes, nails, glass, jagged materials or run-flat conditions. Now you have the protection you need on your tire investment with Colony Tire’s Road Hazard Protection.

If it is determined by Colony Tire that the cut, break or damage covered by this plan is repairable, the tire repair, valve stem and wheel balance will be performed at no cost to the customer for the life of tread. If however, the damage to a tire renders the tire unsafe or unserviceable, Colony Tire will replace such tire with a new tire of like kind and quality. If a tire of like kind or quality is not available, the difference on the replacement cost will either be added if a more expensive tire is supplied or credited if a less expensive tire is supplied.

Road Hazard Protection from Colony Tire is good for 3 years from date of purchase. The tire will be replaced at no charge during the first 25% of tread life and prorated down to 4/32nd’s. The mounting, valve stem and wheel balance is included. Customer will be charged 10% of the current regular selling price of the tire to reinstate road hazard coverage on the new replacement tire.

The following damages are not covered by this plan: Damage caused by fire, theft, or vandalism; damage caused as a result of accident or collision; damage caused by misuses, willful abuse or under-inflation; damage caused by improper balancing, misalignment, improper mounting, or mechanical defects in the vehicle; damage caused by defects in workmanship or materials; cosmetic damages or sidewall abrasions or other appearance items. Tires on racing, offroad and commercial vehicles also are not covered. To make a claim under this plan the customer must present the damaged tire and the original invoice to any Colony Tire location during regular business hours.

If you should experience tire trouble outside of Colony Tire’s operating area, save the problem tire and copy of invoice where replaced or repaired and at our discretion we will either replace the tire or credit you up to the limit of the remedies described within this plan. Please contact the Store Leader (Manager) at the Colony Tire location where tires were purchased if assistance is needed.

This Road Hazard Protection extends only to you, the original purchaser, and is not transferable. It applies only during the warranty period stated herein. It does not provide compensation for incidental or consequential damage such as loss of time, inconvenience, injury to any person, damage to vehicle or other property, loss of use of vehicle, or towing. No Colony Tire employee or representative has the authority to make or imply any representation, promise or agreement which in any way varies the terms of this plan.
