2. Filters

Blocked or damaged air or fuel filters can significantly impact your car’s performance, gas mileage and engine life. It is critical that you prevent dust, dirt and other harmful materials from entering your engine through your air, oil, and fuel intakes. Air filters help keep your airflow clean and your engine running cooler, while fuel filters help keep your fuel supply clean. And of course, you should always get a new oil filter whenever you bring your car into Colony for an oil change.

3. Fluid Exchanges, Vechicle Flushes

To keep all aspects of your vehicle running at peak performance, change all of your car’s key fluids on a regular schedule. This is especially important as seasons change and your car goes from cold to hot or hot to cold.

While visiting us for new tires, an oil change, or other service, have our expert technicians inspect and change, as needed, all of the following fluids to insure against unexpected breakdown.

  • Brake Fluid
  • Antifreeze
  • Power Steering Fluid
  • Transmission Fluid
  • Differential Fluid

4. Tire Rotations

How long your tires will last is almost entirely dependent upon preventing premature tread wear. To insure even wear and long lasting tires it is recommended that they be rotated every 6,000 miles (about every two oil changes). In addition, tires that are not rotated regularly could potentially void the manufacturer warranty.

Our expert technicians will not only rotate your tires, but will fully inspect your tires to make the right recommendations concerning repair or replacement if needed. Our tire rotation service includes:

  • Checking tire pressure
  • Carefully inspecting tires to identify visible damage or abnormal wear patterns
  • Rotating tires according to the pattern recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer
  • Torque lug nuts/bolts to the proper specifications

At Colony Tire we will not only rotate your tires, but will fully inspect your brakes and suspension to insure tire longevity and driving safety.

5. Wheel Alignments

Improper wheel alignment is often caused by chuck holes, minor accidents, and normal wear and tear of the steering and suspension system. When this happens, your tires will wear unevenly, your car may pull to one side, or you may notice a vibration when driving. If you experience any of these conditions, come visit us today.

Proper wheel alignment, along with tire rotation, is not only safer and more comfortable to drive but will save on tire wear while improving gas mileage. Conrad’s expert technicians use state of the art computerized wheel alignment tools to insure the highest precision and accuracy when realigning your car.

6. Belts and Hoses

Each time your oil is changed, it is important to inspect your drive belts and hoses and have them replaced as needed. Heat and wear causes small cracks in your belts and hoses. These cracks can lead to bigger problems if left unnoticed.

If you hear slapping or high pitched squeaking sounds coming from your engine, it is time to have a Colony technician determine where the problem exists before a minor problem leads to a major breakdown...and more expensive repairs.

7. Batteries

When your car won't start, most of the time it is due to a problem with your battery. Conrad’s technicians can help to insure that your car starts as expected… every time. Our battery service includes:

  • Checking and Servicing Your Existing Battery - We’ll tighten loose hold-down clamps and terminals, remove corrosion, and check alternator belt wear and tension.
  • Installing New Batteries - If your existing battery fails testing, Conrad's will install a new battery.
  • Diagnosing Your Charging System - If your battery is overcharged or undercharged it will effect your car's performance and reliability. Let our technicians properly diagnose your charging system.

8. Shocks and Struts

In addition to providing a comfortable ride, shocks and struts provide the critical function of keeping your wheels in proper contact with the road; vital to safe steering and braking.

Shocks and struts should be regularly inspected to insure a safe and smooth ride along with preventing damage to other steering and suspension components . Conrad’s technicians are expertly trained to diagnose problems and recommend the proper replacement parts for your make and model of car.
